Agents, advisors and brokers are all licensed professionals who help you get insured. However, an agent and advisor will only represent a small number of insurance providers (sometimes limited to only one provider), whereas a broker works with a variety of carriers. An agent and advisor's job is to represent the insurance company in the transaction while also helping customers find the right coverage. They have an agency agreement, or contract, with the insurer that stipulates the different types of insurance the agent is able to sell and the commission rates for each policy. A broker represents consumers in their search for coverage and can sell policies from several different insurance companies for a commission. Why limit yourself to only one option when shopping for health insurance, when you can rest assured that our team is exploring ALL available options to customize the best fitting plan for you.

There is no "one-size-fits-all" insurance option, which is why it is important to work with a broker who can explore all of your options. When traveling you want to ensure that you will be covered with a larger, more extensive network of providers. A lot of times that means being on a PPO network. If you are planning of traveling internationally, be sure to review your current policies international coverage. Most do not provide international coverage. It would be important to add a short-term policy designed for international travel. We can help there too.

No. If you are on a marketplace plan or interested in enrolling in a plan through healthcare.gov, they do require you to enroll during open enrollment (November 15th-January 15th). However, there are certain life events that can trigger a special enrollment period (SEP) outside of those dates. Here are a few, but not all of the events: recent marriage or divorce, relocated to a new zip code, had a baby, lost coverage through work, or change in income status. We also offer health plans that do not require an open enrollment period and are not associated with the healthcare marketplace. These plans can be enrolled in 365 days of the year.
-
Absolutely! Most of the plans that we offer outside of the marketplace do utilize a PPO network. There are a few options on the marketplace as well, but much more limited and dependent on your specific state.
